    Counties: Union County Indiana


Union County is located in eastern Indiana, bordered on the north by Wayne County, to the east by Ohio, to the south by Franklin County, and to the west by Fayette County.

It has an area of 162 square miles and during the 2000 Census had 7,349 residents.

Liberty (2000 Census population of 2,061) is both the largest city in Union County and the County Seat.

Other cities and towns include West College Corner (634).

The county was named for the Union of American States.

Notable natives include Civil War General Ambrose Burnside and the poet Joaquin Miller.
