Noble County is located in northeastern Indiana, bordered on the north by Lagrange County, to the east by DeKalb County, to the southeast by Allen County, to the south by Whitley County, and to the west by Elkhart and Kosciusko counties.
It has an area of 411 square miles and during the 2000 Census had 46,275 residents.
Kendallville (2000 Census population of 9,616) is the largest city in Noble County. Albion (2,284) is the County Seat.
Other cities and towns include Ligonier (4,357), Avilla (2,049), Rome City (1,615), Wolcottville (933), and Cromwell (452).
The county was named for James Noble, Indiana's first United States Senator.
Notable natives include former major league baseball commissioner Ford Frick, born 1894 in the village of Wawaka.
