Marshall County is located in northern Indiana, bordered on the north by St. Joseph County, to the northeast by Elkhart County, to the east by Kosciusko County, to the south by Fulton County, and to the west by Starke County.
It has an area of 444 square miles and during the 2000 Census had 45,128 residents.
Plymouth (2000 Census population of 9,840) is both the largest city in Marshall County and the County Seat.
Other cities and towns include Bremen (4,486), Bourbon (1,691), Argos (1,613), Culver (1,539), and La Paz (489).
The county was named for John Marshall, Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court.
