    Counties: Brown County Indiana


Brown County is located in south-central Indiana, bordered on the north by Johnson County and Morgan County, to the east by Bartholomew County, to the south by Jackson County, and to the west by Monroe County.

It has an area of 312 square miles and during the 2000 Census had 14,957 residents.

Nashville (2000 Census population of 825) is both the largest city in Brown County and the County Seat.

The county was named for Jacob Brown, a General in the War of 1812.
